Shuttle buses replace cable cars during 10-day maintenance schedule

To accommodate repair work to San Francisco’s cable cars, shuttle buses will substitute all cable car lines for 10 days in the month of September.

San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency will run bus shuttles instead of the Powell-Hyde, Powell-Mason and California cable car lines for 10 days starting Sept. 13 as part of a project to refurbish the gearboxes that power the cable car system.
