Officials issue shelter-in-place order for areas around Santa Rosa fire

The Santa Rosa Fire Department at the Sonoma County Fire District are fighting a multi-vehicle fire south of Santa Rosa Monday afternoon. A shelter-in-place order was sent by fire officials at 5:29 p.m., which impacts areas south of Todd Road, north of Golf Course Drive, east of Stony Point Road and west of Snyder/Petaluma Hill Road. 

The fire in the Scenic Avenue was reported around 3:35 p.m. Matt Stevens, a spokesman for Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit, said the fire in a junkyard near railroad tracks in the Scenic Avenue area delayed the 3:49 p.m. train.
