Muni resumes regular service after mechanical issue delay

A mechanical issue at Civic Center station caused delays Monday morning along several San Francisco Municipal Railway lines. Muni officials initially reported a mechanical problem with an outbound light-rail vehicle at Civic Center around 10 a.m.

Because of the problem, outbound trains were single-tracked between Montgomery and Van Ness stations, causing delays for both inbound and outbound lines.

Muni ran bus shuttles along Market Street from Steuart Street through Church Street to support service until the issue was corrected.

Muni officials issued a statement via their Twitter account at noon to say the overhead line issue was resolved and regular service had been resumed.
