Crews nearly contain 248-acre Dublin brush fire

Firefighters have almost completely contained a brush fire that broke out in Dublin Friday afternoon after it grew to 248 acres, fire officials said.

Cal Fire and the Alameda County Fire Department said shortly before 2 p.m. that firefighters were working to put out a 5- to 10-acre fire burning in the area of 3840 Camino Loop in Dublin.

The fire was threatening at least two structures.

As of about an hour later, the fire had grown to 248 acres. High winds exacerbated its spread and firefighters used aircraft to try and put it out.

Alameda County fire officials said the fire was 90 percent contained as of shortly after 3 p.m.

Firefighters from the Fremont and Livermore-Pleasanton fire departments are assisting.
