Sacred Heart distributes backpacks, school supplies to 3,300 students

Sacred Heart Community Service will distribute school supplies to 3,300 students on Friday and is still collecting supplies beforehand, according to the San Jose-based charity.

Sacred Heart launched its Pack A Back program to help offset the cost of school supplies for a community that spends a bulk of their paychecks on rent, according to the charity.

Kids will be able to pick out new school supplies between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the organization’s headquarters at 1381 S. First St. The charity is still accepting donations of backpacks and school supplies.

Next week, Sacred Heart plans to distribute kits of classroom supplies containing items like glue sticks and Post-it notes, according to the charity.
