Possible gunman at San Jose State University prompts shelter-in-place

A shelter-in-place order has been issued for San Jose State University Thursday evening because of a possible gunman on campus, a university spokesperson said.

University police issued a campus alert at 6:12 p.m. advising people of a possible gunman near the Spartan Complex, University spokesperson Robin McElhatton said.

No other information was immediately available.
