Oakland standoff ends in arrest of two shooting suspects

Two shooting suspects were arrested after a standoff in the Oakland hills on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The standoff at a residence on Sanford Street near Keller Avenue and Mountain Boulevard just east of Interstate Highway 580 started at about 3 p.m. and ended when the suspects were arrested shortly after 5:30 p.m., according to police.

The suspects are wanted in connected with an active criminal investigation into a shooting, police said. However, police didn’t release details of that shooting or the suspects’ names.

Police thanked the people who lived in the area of the standoff for their patience while officers ensure the neighborhood was safe.
