One pedestrian dies, another critically injured in Tenderloin collision

One pedestrian has died and another was critically injured Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Taylor and O’Farrell streets in San Francisco’s Tenderloin, police said.

The accident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday when a car headed north on Taylor first struck a car crossing Taylor on O’Farrell, and then veered into two pedestrians in a crosswalk at the intersection. One of those two pedestrians has since died, police said.

Neither driver was injured, police said, and both are cooperating with SFPD’s Traffic Collision Investigation Unit investigators. Neither alcohol nor drugs appears to have been a factor in the crash, police said. No further information was immediately available.
