Muni Embarcadero station remains closed

San Francisco Municipal Railway’s Embarcadero station remains closed Thursday after a water drainage issue prompted its closure during the morning commute, according to a Muni spokesman.

The problem was first reported around 5:30 a.m. and also caused the BART Embarcadero station, located directly below the Muni station, to briefly close.

Video and images provided by BART showed water was falling from the Muni level of the station.

Around 6:50 a.m., the BART station reopened and normal service resumed.

Just before 11 a.m., Muni spokesman Paul Rose confirmed the Muni Embarcadero station remained closed as crews work to identify the source of the leak.
