Exports from the Port of Oakland were up in June compared to the previous year, according to the port.
The port announced Monday that containerized export volume increased 4.2 percent last month compared to June 2018. The port has reported year-over-year export gains for four consecutive months.
Oakland’s total cargo volume, which includes imports, exports and empty containers, is up 3.6 percent for the first six months of 2019 compared to the same period last year.
In a news release, Port of Oakland Maritime Director John Driscoll said:
“We remain cautious about our trade outlook as we head towards peak shipping season.”
“But we’re pleased to see the uptick in exports.”
