Police alert Fairfield residents to released convicted sex offender

A sex offender has been released from custody and is residing in the 2800 block of Perry Court in Fairfield, according to police. James Shephard was convicted in 2006 for lewd or lascivious acts with a 13-year-old male and a 10-year-old female, police said. Prior to that, Shephard was convicted in 1982 in Washington after a similar case with a 9-year-old female victim.

All three victims were known to Shephard. Due to his multiple convictions, police are alerting residents to Shephard’s presence in the city. Additional information regarding Shephard or other registered sex offenders can be obtained at www.meganslaw.ca.gov.
