A man was hospitalized early Sunday morning after he walked out a second-story sliding door of a house near Emerald Point Marina on Bethel Island in unincorporated eastern Contra Costa County and fell about 15 feet to a first-story deck, firefighters said.
The accident was reported about 3:25 a.m. Sunday at a house in the 4400 block of Windsweep Road. East Contra Costa Fire Protection District paramedics called in a medical helicopter, which took the 46-year-old man to an area trauma center.
Neither the extent of the man’s injuries nor his condition was available Sunday afternoon.
The cause of the accident remained under investigation Sunday.
