Police and firefighters rescued a man from the Suisun Bay near Pittsburg after a boat capsized in the Delta Monday afternoon. Around 1 p.m., emergency crews responded to the waters just outside the McAvoy Yacht Harbor, listed at 1001 McAvoy Road in Bay Point, to find a man floating in a life preserver.
A California Highway Patrol helicopter arrived on scene first, and was able to hoist the victim out of the water despite windy conditions. The patient was transported back to shore, where he was treated by Contra Costa County Fire Protection District personnel.
An update on his condition was not immediately available Tuesday.
