Newark apartment building fire affects several units

Firefighters are working to extinguish a one-alarm apartment fire that’s affected multiple units at a residential complex in Newark, a fire spokeswoman said Monday afternoon.

The fire was reported just after 3 p.m. in the 6000 block of Joaquin Murieta Avenue, according to Alameda County Fire spokeswoman Aisha Knowles.

As of 4 p.m. there were no reports of injuries, according to Knowles.
