Santa Rosa house fire causes $400,000 damage

A fire Saturday morning severely damaged a residence in Santa Rosa.

Firefighters with the Santa Rosa Fire Department responded Saturday morning at 12:52 a.m. to multiple calls about a residence on fire at 412 Tanglewood Court.

Fire crews found a single story residence with fire visible from the rear of the home and smoke coming from the attic vents.

Firefighters discovered the home was unoccupied and were able to bring the fire under control in about 20 minutes.

Investigators determined the fire started outside the home on or near a deck and sliding glass door and then extended to the rest of the house. The fire consumed the rear section of the house and extended into the attic.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Damage to the home is estimated at $400,000.
