Authorities believe Pacheco homicide victim knew suspect

A man was killed in a homicide Friday afternoon in the Contra Costa County community of Pacheco, according to the sheriff’s office. Someone called sheriff’s dispatchers at 12:12 p.m. to request medical aid and police in the 5900 block of Pacheco Boulevard. The caller said that a man was covered in blood and lying on the sidewalk.

Pleasant Hill police arrived and gave the man CPR but he died at the scene. Sheriff’s officials said the man is believed to be a 29-year-old Pacheco resident.

He’s not being identified yet. Sheriff’s officials believe the victim knew the suspect.
