Novato police are looking for suspects in two similar robberies in late June.
On Wednesday a juvenile female reported two suspects stole her cell phone near Cambridge and Buchanan streets around 6:30 p.m. The suspects were described as black or Hispanic men in their 20s. The woman was not injured, police said.
On Friday two juvenile females reported their cell phones and a wallet were stolen in the area of Seventh Street and Marion Avenue around 4:10 p.m. by a black and a Hispanic man around 20 years old. The victims said one suspect pointed a handgun at them, pushed one of them to the ground and demanded their cell phones and wallet.
The suspects fled toward Carmel Drive, police said.
About 20 minutes later, a debit card taken during the robbery was used at a business in Larkspur, police said.
Police said they can’t conclude the robberies are related and committed by the same suspects. The suspects are believed to have traveled in the area of Vallejo and Marion avenues, Seventh Street and Carmel Drive, police said.
Anyone in those areas who has video surveillance recordings during the times of the robberies is asked to call Novato police at (415) 897-4361 or email crimetips@novato.org.
