New details emerge in Valley Ford house party shooting

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office released new details about a shooting that left two people hospitalized with serious injuries Saturday night in Valley Ford, an unincorporated area of Sonoma County. The shooting at about 9:40 p.m. in the 12000 block of Valley Ford Road resulted in life-threatening injuries for one victim, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies responded to multiple reports of a fight involving a gun and found about 30 people in and around a house who directed them to the victims.

One victim, located in a car with a serious head wound, was transported to a hospital by helicopter. The second, found in a backyard with a leg wound, was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Deputies searched the property for suspects, then launched a larger search of the area, calling in helicopter Henry 1. Witnesses told deputies a fight had broken out at the house during an after-party that followed a gender reveal party earlier that day at Finley Park in Santa Rosa. The victims were reportedly wounded during the fight.

Detectives are actively investigating the incident and search warrants have been issued for the house and six cars that were at the scene.
