Transit train strikes pedestrian in Rohnert Park

A pedestrian was struck by a Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit train around 7:45 a.m. Thursday in the Rohnert Park area, a spokeswoman for SMART said.

The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety said an accident happened on the tracks in the area of Golf Course Drive and Roberts Lake Road.

SMART spokeswoman Jeanne Mariani-Belding said SMART is running bus shuttles for passengers between the Santa Rosa and Cotati train stations.
