County encourages reporting of unpermitted rentals during U.S. Open

With crowds in Monterey County this week for the U.S. Open major golf tournament at Pebble Beach, the county is encouraging residents who have concerns about unpermitted residential rentals to call a hotline or fill out a complaint online.

County officials say people should call their short-term rental hotline at (831) 900-4441 rather than 911 if they think someone is using a home as an unpermitted rental.

People can also fill out a form at https://safe.hostcompliance.com/tips/route or use the Monterey County Connect smartphone app.

The U.S. Open will take place at Pebble Beach Golf Links from Thursday through Sunday. It is the sixth time that the tournament has been held at Pebble Beach.
