Coroner identifies San Pablo man as motorcycle crash victim

The Solano County coroner’s office has identified a motorcycle rider who died in a collision in Vallejo on Monday morning as Romeo Gonzalez, 38, of San Pablo.

Gonzalez was riding a 2002 Honda CB900F motorcycle south on Railroad Avenue around 10:50 a.m. when he drove left of the double yellow line and collided with a 2008 Infiniti G35 that was attempting to make a U-turn in the intersection with Fourth Street, Vallejo police Lt. Michael Nichelini said.

Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene, and the 32-year-old Rohnert Park resident driving the Infiniti suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital.

A 27-year-old Vallejo resident who was a passenger in the Infiniti suffered substantial injuries and also was taken to a hospital, Nichelini said.

The collision is still under investigation, Nichelini said.
