Calaveras Fire burns through 35 acres, size doubles in 15 minutes

Forward progress has been stopped on a 35-acre brush fire in unincorporated Santa Clara County east of Milpitas, according to Cal Fire. The fire was reported at 4:15 p.m. off of Calaveras and Weller roads near Ed R. Levin County Park and doubled in size from 15 acres. Cal Fire officials said at about 4:30 p.m. that the fire is 0 percent contained but crews have been able to get the upper hand. No further information is available.
