Boy dies from apparent drowning at Crissy Field Beach

A 14-year-old boy pulled from the water at Crissy Field Beach has died, despite life-saving efforts, San Francisco Fire Department officials said Monday.

Around 2:15 p.m., fire department officials initially said their crews were searching for the boy, who had been reported missing after being seen struggling in the water.

Once he was rescued, the boy was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“Our heartfelt condolences and support go out to his family,” fire officials said in a statement on Twitter.
