Ashland FamFest brings families together in Alameda County

The Ashland Cherryland FamFest Festival is taking place Saturday in unincorporated Alameda County.

The festival will take place between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday on East 14th Street between 162nd Avenue and 164th Avenue in unincorporated Ashland near San Leandro.

According to the county, most of the vendors will be stationed outside the REACH Ashland Youth Center at 16335 E. 14th St.

Offerings will include live music at two stages, health screenings, food for sale, and family activities.

This year, for the first time the FamFest is divided into two events. In addition to Saturday’s festival, a 5K Fun Run will be held in October.

FamFest is organized by the Ashland Cherryland Healthy Communities Collaborative, which consists of more than 30 organizations dedicated to improving the health and well being of their community.
