Police in Pinole asked residents in the vicinity of San Pablo Avenue and Appian Way to shelter in place due to a gas leak Tuesday afternoon, according to the Contra Costa County Community Warning System.
People are advised to go indoors, close all windows and doors and stay there until receiving additional instructions. Additional information is available from police dispatch at (510) 724-1111.
PG&E was not immediately available to comment on the nature of the gas leak.
