Pittsburg woman, 18, dies after car runs off road, strikes pole

A woman who died in a car crash in Concord early Sunday morning has been identified by the Contra Costa County coroner’s office as 18-year-old Pittsburg resident Taleah Montanez.

Montanez died in the crash reported at 12:41 a.m. on Kirker Pass Road.

Her vehicle apparently went off the road and struck a signal pole, prompting the closure of Kirker Pass at Hess Road for more than three hours, police said.
