Eight people were displaced after a house fire in East San Jose on Monday afternoon, according to a fire captain.
The fire was reported at about 3 p.m. in the 2600 block of McLaughlin Avenue and was under control as of 4 p.m., according to Capt. Mitch Matlow.
One person was hospitalized with minor injuries and the American Red Cross is supporting residents of the single-family home, who are all adults.
Firefighters were still on scene late Monday afternoon to try to determine the cause of the fire.
