Oakland motorcyclist dies in Polk Gulch crash

A 47-year-old man died in a crash between his motorcycle and a vehicle in San Francisco’s Polk Gulch neighborhood Saturday night, police said Monday.

The crash was reported at 10:12 p.m. at Pine and Polk streets involving a motorcycle and a BMW X3.

The motorcyclist, identified by the medical examiner’s office as Oakland resident Darren Travis, died after being taken to a hospital, according to police.

The BMW driver was not arrested following the collision, police said.
