Police arrest arson suspect after small fire set at Uber office

A man was arrested after allegedly trying to set a fire at an Uber office in Daly City on Sunday night, according to police.

Police said the suspect, 26-year-old Casey Long, was seen by a witness running from the front of the building at 950 John Daly Blvd. to the back of the building after setting a fire.

Officers responded at 10:42 p.m. and found a small fire near the front door that was quickly extinguished after causing damage to a front window, police said.

Officers searching the area found Long near the rear of the business and arrested him on suspicion of arson.

Police said nothing in their investigation indicates the ride-hailing service Uber was specifically targeted in the case. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Daly City police at (650) 991-8119.
