Hit-and-run driver seriously injures pedestrian, CHP asks for public help

The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in finding a driver responsible for a hit-and-run Saturday night. The driver struck a female pedestrian on Old Redwood Highway south of Shiloh Road in Sonoma County.

CHP officers found the woman with major injuries lying in the roadway around 11:20 p.m., CHP Officer Juan Leon said. The driver fled in the vehicle, and some broken lighting assembly pieces believed to be from the suspect’s vehicle were left at the scene, Leon said.

Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call the CHP’s Santa Rosa-area office at (707) 588-1400 or dispatch at (707) 641-8300.
