Body found in Anuta Park identified as 35-year-old Pittsburg man

A man found dead in a park in the Bay Point area of Contra Costa County Sunday morning has been identified as Chukwuemeka Onyeagucha, a 35-year-old resident of Pittsburg, according to the county coroner’s office. Sheriff’s deputies responded to Anuta Park on Willow Pass Road just before 12:30 a.m. and found Onyeagucha unconscious and not breathing. He was pronounced dead despite life-saving efforts.

Deputies were investigating Onyeagucha’s death as a homicide Monday, although coroner’s office personnel say the death is just suspicious and has not yet been classified as a homicide.

Anyone with additional details about Onyeagucha’s death is asked to contact investigators at (925) 646-2441.
