Man pleads not guilty in brother’s fatal stabbing

A young Santa Rosa man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to stabbing his older brother to death in Healdsburg in March.

Moses Torres, 18, faces a preliminary hearing in Sonoma County Superior Court on May 20.

Healdsburg police responded to a report of a stabbing around 7:10 p.m. March 27 and found 25-year-old Ivan Torres wounded in the torso at a home at 1687 Canyon Run in Healdsburg. Torres died en route to a hospital.

Police arrested Moses Torres in the Larkfield-Wikiup area of Sonoma County north of Santa Rosa. Healdsburg police said they also recovered the weapon used in the killing.
