BART train strikes person at El Cerrito del Norte, two stations closed

A BART train struck a person at the El Cerrito del Norte station Monday morning, prompting the closure of the station as well as the Richmond station, according to the transit agency.

The person was struck shortly before 7:30 a.m. by a Warm Springs-bound train, BART spokesman Chris Filippi said.

BART officials are advising people to go to the El Cerrito Plaza station while the other two stations are closed, according to Filippi. He did not immediately have information about the person struck by the train.
