Berkeley Apple store robbed four times in six days

Officers are looking for three men who robbed an Apple retail store four times over the span of six days, according to Berkeley police. The men, who hit the store twice on March 28 and once on Monday and Tuesday this week, made off with thousands of dollars worth of electronics, said police spokesman Officer Byron White.

White said:

“It’s one of those things that’s been an off and on issue, not just with Apple but also with other electronic stores. … We see it at coffee shops and outside eateries where they have outside eating. The snatch and grabs.”

Witnesses said the men came into the store, picked out what they wanted to steal and then used brute force to grab the items from where they were secured to display cases.

The suspects were able to make off with cell phones and laptops and on Monday took $15,000 worth of merchandise, according to Berkeley police.

Anyone in a store during such a robbery should avoid intervening but make a mental note of any suspect’s description, any vehicle they might use to make their escape and, if possible, that vehicle’s license plate number, White said.

Police released images of the suspects and are asking anyone who might recognize them or have any information to call investigators at (510) 981-5737.
