A woman was stabbed to death during a domestic dispute in Pittsburg Monday afternoon, according to police.
Officers responded to an address on Beechwood Court on a report of a stabbing and found the victim with multiple wounds to her upper body. She was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead.
Investigators determined that during a family argument, a male suspect whose name has not been released became enraged and began to attack the woman with a blade. Other family members intervened, but the victim had already suffered fatal injuries.
Homicide detectives are interviewing witnesses and taking statements, but police are not yet releasing additional information. Capt. Steve Albanese referred additional questions to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.
This was Pittsburg’s second homicide of 2019.
