A driver died early Saturday morning after fleeing a traffic stop in Monterey County, authorities said.
The male driver was doing donuts and driving recklessly shortly after midnight Saturday on Alisal Road in an area south of Salinas, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.
When a sheriff’s deputy tried to pull him over, the driver sped away and lost control of the car. He was taken to a hospital and died later from his injuries, officials said.
The driver’s name has not been released.
