Two adults and five children were hospitalized after a car crash on U.S. Highway 101 in Soledad on Monday morning, according to Cal Fire. The crash was reported at 10:32 a.m. in the area of Highway 101 just north of Camphora Gloria Road. About 11 firefighters from Soledad and Cal Fire responded to the scene after an SUV struck a center divider. All seven patients were treated at the scene and ambulances and five helicopters transported victims to nearby hospitals. Both children were flown to the hospital and the victims suffered moderate to major injuries, according to Cal Fire Batallion Chief Mike Morlan.
The California Highway Patrol was also at the scene and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
