Man killed in Saturday Fillmore shooting identified

A man who died in a shooting in San Francisco’s Fillmore District on Saturday night has been identified by the city’s medical examiner’s office as 25-year-old San Leandro resident Mister Dee Carnell Simmons III. The shooting happened around 8:40 p.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of Fillmore Street near Eddy Street, and injured five other people, including a 27-year-old man whose injuries are considered life-threatening, police said.

A 50-year-old woman, and three men ages 19, 25 and 50, also suffered injuries in the shooting but are expected to survive, according to police.

No arrest has been announced in the case and police have not released any suspect information. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” at the start of the message.
