Officers with the California Highway Patrol responded Friday at 2:55 p.m. to a report of a traffic collision on northbound U.S. Highway 101 at Geyserville Avenue and learned a woman had been killed in the collision. The preliminary investigation into the collision indicates the woman was driving a blue Nissan south on U.S. Highway 101 when she lost control of her vehicle, traveled across the center median and collided with a 2016 Honda Civic and a 2004 Toyota Tundra traveling north on the highway, according to the CHP.
The driver and a passenger in the Toyota were transported to the hospital with moderate injuries, and the driver and a passenger in the Honda were evaluated at the scene and released, according to the CHP. The identity of the woman killed in the collision was not immediately available Friday night.
Traffic on northbound U.S. Highway 101 was diverted to the Geyserville Avenue exit as the incident was being investigated. The roadway was reopened at 6:15 p.m.
