Oakland man dies in hospital two days after shooting

A man who was shot in East Oakland early Sunday morning died from his wounds on Tuesday, police said.

The 30-year-old Oakland man, whose name hasn’t yet been released by authorities, was shot near the intersection of 96th Avenue and Sunnyside Street at 1:23 a.m. Sunday, according to police.

The man was taken to Highland Hospital in Oakland, where he died on Tuesday morning, police said.

No one has been arrested for the fatal shooting and police haven’t released information on a suspect or a motive.
