Newark woman identified as victim in fatal collision

A woman who was killed in a collision in Fremont on Sunday night that police believe may have involved alcohol was identified by the Alameda County coroner’s bureau on Monday as 70-year-old Erlinda Domingo of Newark. Fremont police said Domingo was a passenger in a Honda Civic that collided with a minivan on Central Avenue just east of Blacow Road at about 6:15 p.m. Sunday.

The minivan’s male driver fled on foot but officers found him in a nearby neighborhood a short time later and arrested him, according to police. The driver’s name is not yet being released.
