A 75-year-old man died in a crash on a private road in El Sobrante on Sunday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers responded at 6:13 p.m. to a report of an overturned vehicle on a private maintained road near 5499 Sobrante Ave. They arrived to find a green Jeep had driven into an embankment and overturned. The driver, identified by the Contra Costa County coroner’s office as El Sobrante resident Arthur Horn, was extricated from the Jeep but pronounced dead at the scene, CHP officials said.
According to the CHP, impairment is believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the CHP’s Contra Costa office at (925) 646-4980.
