Burglary suspect arrested inside Milpitas store

Richard Salas, 18, of Milpitas, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and vandalism, according to the Milpitas Police Department. On Thursday at 12:06 a.m., officers responded to an alarm at Victoria Liquors & Food at 22 S. Park Victoria Drive.
Responding officers found the front glass door of the business had been smashed.
Police then found the front door at a nearby mobile phone business at 38 S. Park Victoria Drive, and a window at another nearby store at 52 S. Park Victoria Drive had also been smashed.
As officers checked Nutricion Y Salud, the location with the broken window, they heard someone inside, police said.
Officers saw the suspect, later identified as Salas, walking inside the business with cloth wrapped around his head and a metal steering wheel lock in his hands.
Police said he was bleeding from his hands and back.
Salas was taken into custody and arrested without incident.
