Suspected driver arrested after Tenderloin hit-and-run

Officers have arrested a driver involved in a hit-and-run collision in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood earlier this week, which left the victim with severe injuries, police said Tuesday.

Officers arrested Nakleh Kare, 41, on suspicion of hit-and-run and evading arrest in connection with a Monday collision along Golden Gate Avenue, according to police.

After the collision with the female pedestrian, officers pursued Kare but he was driving fast so officers terminated the pursuit and were unable to apprehend him at the time.

Officers, however, arrested Kare Tuesday and booked him into jail, where he’s being held without bail, according to jail records.
