Nearly 500 San Rafael PG&E customers without service following downed power lines

A vehicle crash knocked down power lines in the area of Point San Pedro Road and Balboa Avenue in southeast San Rafael on Tuesday morning, police said.

About 3,000 PG&E customers lost power around 7:45 a.m. but power was restored to all but 486 customers by 8:45 a.m., PG&E spokeswoman Deanna Contreras said.

There is no estimate for when power will be fully restored, Contreras said.
