San Francisco Mayor London Breed will be hosting a news conference Monday morning announcing the appointment of a new public defender in the wake of Jeff Adachi’s death, according to the mayor’s office.
The 9:30 a.m. event will take place on the mayor’s balcony. Adachi, 59, passed away on Feb. 22 after having dinner with a friend in the city’s North Beach neighborhood. Police have ruled out foul play in the death.
