A 75-year-old at-risk Fremont woman missing since Monday was found alive Wednesday by Newark police after apparently spending two days in her car, Fremont police said.
Doris Mederios’ family lost contact with her Monday afternoon after she said she was going to leave her house to seek medical attention at an urgent care facility across from Washington Hospital, about a 15-minute drive away.
Police believe she spent the past two days in her car, which may have somehow gotten stuck.
Mederios, who has health issues that require the use of oxygen, is “okay, but being taken to a local hospital for medical care,” Fremont police said.
