Man sentenced to 20 years in prison for human trafficking

A 33-year-old man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for human trafficking in the Bay Area, Contra Costa County prosecutors said Friday.

Hilario Martinez Jr. pleaded guilty to seven felonies including sex trafficking, pimping and threatening multiple victims, one of whom was a minor who had run away from home.

Martinez used social media to promote himself as a pimp under the name “Kash” and “KashOnly.” He trafficked his victims in hotels across the Bay Area and in Reno, Nevada.

Martinez will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Contra Costa County prosecutors want to remind residents to report sexual abuse or trafficking by calling Community Violence Solutions in Contra Costa County at (800) 670-7273 or the National Human Trafficking Resource Center at (888) 373-7888.
