A pedestrian was killed when a car hit him Monday night in Mountain View, police said.
Officers responded at 8:49 p.m. to the 100 block of El Camino Real following reports of the collision.
Police said a car going west on El Camino Real near Yuba Drive hit the pedestrian, a man in his 60s, when he allegedly stepped off the sidewalk into the road.
The man died at the scene. According to police, the driver of the car stopped and cooperated with officers.
Police said westbound El Camino Real between Yuba Drive and state Highway 237 will be closed until perhaps 2 a.m. while an investigation is completed.
