A Santa Rosa woman was arrested after allegedly attempting to sell narcotics in a shopping center in Petaluma, before leading officers on a high-speed chase that ended on northbound U.S. Highway 101 in Santa Rosa, according to Petaluma police.
The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Khadijaf Saadani, was near a grocery store in the 300 block of South McDowell Boulevard in a white Jeep SUV – reported stolen out of Tracy – trying to sell drugs to residents, police said.
As officers attempted to contact Saadani, according to police, she fled in the Jeep to the freeway, weaving in-between traffic at speeds greater than 80 mph, before coming to a stop in Santa Rosa near the Mendocino Avenue junction.
Saadani at first didn’t get out of the vehicle, but officers conducting a high-risk stop were eventually able to take her into custody, police said.
She was taken to the Sonoma County Jail and booked on suspicion of reckless evasion, vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest and having outstanding warrants. Her bail was set at $40,000.
